
Dr. Marzena Chrostowska graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Gdańsk. Since the beginning of her professional career, she has been affiliated with the Department of Hypertension and Diabetology at the Medical University of Gdańsk. She is a specialist in internal medicine, hypertension, and diabetology, providing comprehensive care for patients with metabolic syndrome, including obesity, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and dyslipidemia. Since 2004, she has held the title of European Hypertension Specialist, awarded by the European Society of Hypertension.
Alongside her clinical practice, she actively participates in scientific research and clinical trials focused on hypertension, obesity, and diabetes. She earned her PhD in 1998 for research on genetic factors affecting the 24-hour blood pressure profile in young healthy men, and in 2013 she was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences (habilitation) for her work on abdominal obesity as a cardiovascular risk factor in hypertension.
She is the author and co-author of more than 90 scientific publications, review articles, and book chapters. Dr. Chrostowska is a member of the Polish Society of Hypertension, the European Society of Hypertension, the Polish Cardiac Society, and the Polish Diabetes Association. She continuously combines clinical practice with research, offering evidence-based, individualized care for patients with hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and other metabolic disorders.
