Tropocollagen is the basic structural unit of type I collagen. It is administered as a purified atelocollagen injectable preparation. Once injected into the skin, it acts as both a scaffold and a biological stimulus, signaling fibroblasts to produce the body’s own type I and III collagen.
It is not a volumizing filler. The aim of the treatment is to improve skin density and elasticity and create a smoother skin texture.
Before the procedure, a numbing cream is applied to the skin. Tropocollagen is injected intradermally and subcutaneously in small deposits or using a linear technique. Depending on the treatment area, a cannula or fine needle is used.
Afterwards, the skin is cooled and a soothing mask is applied. The entire procedure takes approximately 30 minutes and does not require downtime.
Tropocollagen can form the basis of a broader biostimulation plan. At Garden Clinic, it is often combined with PRP or fibrin to provide an additional regenerative stimulus, as well as with fractional technologies to support the treatment of scars and stretch marks.
In delicate areas, it may also be combined with hydrating mesotherapy. Treatment is planned in stages to give the skin enough time for natural remodeling.
For 24–48 hours after treatment, avoid saunas, swimming pools and intensive exercise. Do not use strong peels or topical retinoids for 3–5 days.
At home, use gentle cleansing products, a barrier-supporting cream and SPF 50 on exposed areas. Adequate hydration, protein intake and sleep can also support the skin’s regenerative processes.
Skin quality is influenced by more than injectable treatments. At Garden Clinic, biostimulation can be combined with an individualized nutrition and physical activity plan, as well as other procedures selected according to the patient’s needs.
