Non-surgical face and body lift

HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy that works precisely within deeper tissue layers. It creates microscopic coagulation zones in the skin at temperatures of approximately 60–70°C, stimulating collagen and elastin remodeling. In procedural medicine, HIFU is also used for the ablation of selected lesions in internal organs.

Biological effect on the skin

HIFU energy is delivered precisely at a selected depth. The most commonly used depths are 1.5 mm (epidermis–dermis), 3.0 mm (reticular dermis) and 4.5 mm (SMAS). For body treatments, depths of 6–13 mm may also be used.

The treatment creates a network of microscopic thermal points while the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. Over the following weeks, the skin gradually becomes firmer and denser.

Aesthetic indications

Aesthetic indications

  • Facial contour, jowls and jawline
  • Double chin and neck
  • Drooping eyebrows and smoothing of the lower eyelid area
  • Cheeks and nasolabial folds as part of a comprehensive treatment plan
  • Décolletage
  • Arms and abdomen, including after weight loss or pregnancy

Who is HIFU suitable for?

  • People with loss of skin firmness and elasticity
  • Mild to moderate soft tissue laxity
  • Patients who want to improve skin quality without surgery
  • Active people who value a short recovery period

What does a HIFU treatment involve?

The treatment begins with cleansing the skin and marking the treatment areas. A conductive gel is then applied, followed by selection of the appropriate cartridge depth and energy level. The specialist moves the handpiece along the designated treatment lines.

During each pulse, you may experience a brief, localized sensation of heat and pressure.

  • Treatment time: 30–90 minutes, depending on the area
  • After treatment, the skin may remain slightly red and tender for several hours

HIFU – results and when to expect them

  • A subtle lifting effect may be visible immediately after treatment
  • Full collagen remodeling develops within 8–12 weeks
  • Results usually last 12–24 months
  • Usually one session is sufficient; for more lax skin or body areas, a second treatment may be beneficial after 3–6 months
  • Maintenance treatment can be performed as needed, usually every 12–18 months

Aftercare

Use SPF 50 for two weeks. Choose gentle skincare and avoid strong acids and retinoids for 3–5 days. Avoid intensive exercise, saunas and swimming pools for 24–48 hours and deep tissue massage in the treated area for seven days.

Adequate hydration, sleep and moderate physical activity are also recommended.

HIFU – before and after results from our Clinic

HIFU and previous treatments

  • Hyaluronic acid fillers – extra caution and a longer interval are recommended when treating directly over the injected product; the treatment plan should be determined by your doctor
  • Botulinum toxin – usually an interval of 1–2 weeks
  • Threads – usually an interval of 3–6 months, avoiding treatment directly over the threads
  • Microneedling RF, fractional lasers and peels – treatments should be scheduled sequentially, usually 2–6 weeks apart depending on their intensity

HIFU treatments – body areas

  • Neck and double chin – improved firmness of the platysma and skin, smoothing of horizontal neck lines
  • Décolletage – improved skin density and reduction of fine vertical lines
  • Arms and abdomen – skin firming after weight loss or pregnancy
  • Thighs and areas above the knees – improved firmness and skin texture

Combining HIFU with physiotherapy and a healthy lifestyle

The effects of HIFU can be supported by good posture, reducing tension in the neck and masseter muscles, exercises for the muscles of the floor of the mouth, adequate sleep and sufficient protein intake.

At Garden Clinic, dermatologists, medical cosmetologists and physiotherapists work together to create comprehensive treatment plans that may also include home skincare and exercise.
